Enchanted Pond, Yosemite National Park
An early morning walk along the Merced River in Yosemite Valley was as peaceful and calming as could be imagined. Ahead of me, along the river bank, the misty veil of morning fog combined with smoke from a managed burn filled the air. As I approached, this small pond came into view, and the rising sun just peeking over the canyon ridge line was reflected on its mirror-like surface. It was as enchanting as a fairytale. And in the distance I saw something just visible in the mist.
