Lake of Fire
Lakeside, CA
Several days in a row of beautiful sunsets had made me keep an eye on the sky. Things looked promising as evening approached and a short drive to nearby Lindo Lake seemed like a good idea. It wasn't much of a sunset though, and as distant grey clouds began to darken the time had come to call it quits. Suddenly the faintest tinge of purple began to appear. It didn't take long until fire red developed and brightened in the clouds, their reflection turning the the surface of the water before me into a lake of fire. - Dan McGeorge
